MAPIM REAFFIRMS CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL MILITARY INTERVENTION TO STOP ISRAEL’S GENOCIDE IN GAZA – CEASEFIRE NEGOTIATIONS NO LONGER VIABLE
The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) urgently reaffirms its call for immediate military intervention by the international community to halt the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza.
After over seven months of relentless bombardment, total siege, and the mass killing of over 53,000 civilians, including thousands of children, it is clear that diplomatic pressure, negotiations, and ceasefire talks have failed to yield any meaningful protection for the Palestinian people.
The Israeli regime has repeatedly ignored international calls, violated ceasefire terms, and escalated its aggression with impunity. Negotiations with a genocidal occupier are no longer morally or strategically acceptable.
MAPIM asserts that:
- The time for statements is over — the time for decisive action is now.
- International military protection must be deployed under a UN or multilateral mandate to halt the atrocities.
- A humanitarian corridor must be enforced by peacekeeping forces to ensure unrestricted aid to Gaza.
War crimes committed by Israel’s leadership must be prosecuted at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, President of MAPIM, stated:
“When civilians are being bombed in hospitals, when children are starved by a total blockade, and when the world watches in paralysis — then we must say clearly: this is no longer a humanitarian crisis, it is a genocide. The only way to stop it is through military intervention to protect the people of Gaza. Negotiating with Israel at this point is futile and shameful.”
MAPIM calls upon:
■ The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to immediately convene and authorize collective defense action.
■The UN Security Council to invoke its responsibility to protect civilians under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
■All peace-loving nations to withdraw diplomatic cover from Israel and support enforcement mechanisms to end the occupation.
MAPIM will continue to mobilize international civil society, religious bodies, and grassroots movements to demand real action — not empty statements.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid
President MAPIM
